The Center Drive School in Orrington is accepting applications for a full-time special education teacher to provide instruction and support to students with learning difficulties and attentional challenges. A successful candidate should have experience in planning and implementing instruction to students in reading, written language and math in a resource room classroom. State of Maine certification 282 is required.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills with peers, students, and families and skills in developing accommodations to support access to the curriculum. Additional duties will include performing classroom observations, maintaining special education records, and writing IEPs.
