The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) is seeking a dynamic and motivated Assistant Director of Upward Bound to join our team and contribute to the success of our Upward Bound Program. Upward Bound is a federally funded program designed to provide academic support, mentorship and college readiness services to high school students from underserved communities, with the goal of increasing their access to and success in higher education. The UMF Upward Bound Department is funded federally by two programs, the Foothills Upward Bound and River Valley Upward Bound. During the academic year, business days are split between the office and target high schools; however, there may be a need for mornings, evenings, and weekend hours depending on the need of the position. This role provides day-to-day oversight and coordination of programming, evaluation, and record-keeping. In addition, there is supervisory oversight of temporary staff, direct services, and student support.
This is a soft money-funded position. The continuation of this position is contingent upon funding and the needs of the University.
