- Certification as special education teacher (#282) required
- Ability to write and implement individual education plans required
- Ability to complete diagnostic testing required
- Experience working with children with disabilities necessary
- Proficiency with technology required
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team required
- Ability to implement Safety-Care intervention strategies helpful but not required
- Ability to develop and implement behavior plans necessary
- Strong background in Reading and Math preferred
- Ability to collaboratively problem solve
- Experience with special education law and forms
- Ability to identify barriers to learning and to teach skills in academic, social executive function, and emotional regulation areas
- Willingness to look at whole child, evidenced-based approaches
- Ability to support students in learning the skills they need to be successful learners
- Ability to use data-driven approaches to track learning progress and growth
- Training in multi-sensory approach to reading preferred
