JOB SUMMARY:

Provide comprehensive Social Work and Case Management services as a leader of the student service team providing highly structured behavioral and educational services to emotionally impaired children.

 

Scope of Service:

The Renaissance School is an educational and psychiatric day treatment program for primary and middle school special education students between 5-15 years of age and is liscensed by the Maine Department of Education as a "Special Purpose School".  All children served are diagnosed by the sending Pupil Evaluation Team as having a behavioral impairment or emotional disturbance which severely impedes their ability to receive educational services in the sending school.  Additionally, all children served by the Renaissance School have a diagnosis under DSM IV which necessitates psychiatric care.

 

The student day runs from 8:15 AM to 2:15 PM Monday through Friday during the regular school year, and from 8:15 AM to 1:15 PM during the extended school year (summer months).  The school is closed on weekends and holidays.  The school additionally follows the Auburn School Department school calendar and is closed to students for the same school vacations, teacher workshop days, and inclement weather cancellations.  The school is staffed Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM except for hospital holidays.

The Renaissance School currently operates one location at 15 Sacred Heart Place, Auburn, ME

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

A Master's Degree required

* LCSW, LNSW, or LCPC licensure or equivalent required from the State of Maine

 

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 1 year experience required

 

OTHER SKILLS REQUIRED:

Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) required within 90 days of hire (training provided).
