ABOUT THE POSITION
Job responsibilities include:
- Manage dual enrollment partnerships, ensuring alignment of standards allowing students to earn college credits while enrolled in high school business courses.
- Implement a business education curriculum that aligns with the standards of higher education institutions granting dual enrollment (transferable) college credit to high school students.
- Collaborate with colleagues, industry professionals, and higher education partners to enhance the quality of the business program.
- Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with industry trends, teaching methodologies, and dual enrollment best practices.
- Provide guidance and support to students interested in pursuing careers in business, entrepreneurship, or related fields.
- Facilitate hands-on, experiential learning opportunities, such as internships, industry visits, and collaborative projects with local businesses.
- Foster relationships with business leaders and professionals to enrich the learning experience and provide networking opportunities for students.
- Implement effective assessment strategies to measure student learning outcomes and ensure program effectiveness.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Masters Degree in Education, Business Education, or a related field
- State teaching certification/licensure OR a commitment to complete the required courses to become certified once hired
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, business concepts, entrepreneurship, and industry trends
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students to excel in their business education

Westbrook Regional Vocational Center (WRVC) is a collaborative Career and Technical Education (CTE) school of up to 400 learners and 25 staff. Our 15 programs serve 12 sending schools and offer cutting-edge, rigorous, and relevant CTE learning that prepares students for a wide range of high-wage, high-skill, high-demand careers. CTE programs at WRVC blend content with real-world applications and live work-based learning to prepare students for college and career pathways. Students work in collaborative teams to develop solutions to authentic problems and learn to implement protocols and procedures in the classroom and the field.
