Job Title: Head Boys Basketball Coach
Location: Massabesic High School – Waterboro, Maine

Overview:
Massabesic High School is seeking a dynamic and resilient leader to serve as Head Coach of the Boys Basketball program. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and visionary coach to take the helm of a rebuilding program and lead it into a new era of growth and competitive success.

The Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for a coach who thrives on challenge, leads with integrity, and understands the importance of building a culture of accountability, effort, and respect. The right candidate will be a skilled communicator, motivator, and teacher—someone who can mentor student-athletes on and off the court and set a strong example through character and consistency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead all aspects of the boys basketball program, including varsity team and oversight of sub-varsity levels

  • Develop and implement a 3–5 year vision for program growth and success

  • Foster a culture of hard work, sportsmanship, and academic achievement

  • Build positive relationships with players, families, school staff, and the broader community

  • Recruit and develop assistant coaches aligned with the program’s values and goals

  • Promote year-round player development and off-season training opportunities

  • Maintain high standards of player conduct, discipline, and team unity

  • Navigate adversity with professionalism and resilience

Qualifications:

  • Prior coaching experience at the high school or collegiate level preferred

  • Proven leadership and organizational skills

  • Ability to mentor and positively influence student-athletes

  • Commitment to the mission and values of Massabesic High School and RSU 57

  • Must meet all coaching certification requirements for the State of Maine (or be willing to obtain)
