Our School: Marcia Buker Elementary School (MBES) is a small PreK-5 school of
approximately 200 students in Richmond, Maine–a town that Down East Magazine lists as a
“Best Place to Live!” It is certainly one of the best places in which to teach! The PK-5
teachers work closely as a team to support all students in academic and social development
through balanced and exciting programs of learning.

Special Education Teacher (K-5): Full-time, permanent beginning with the 2024-25 school year
The MBES special ed team is a collaborative and supportive group of educators who begin
each day ready to teach, problem solve, plan, and assist one another. They end each day
smiling. As a member of our amazing team, the successful candidate would be responsible
for supporting our students with autism through creative programming designed to help
students achieve their IEP goals within an inclusive framework, and for providing specially
designed instruction in math and reading to individual students or small groups.All members of the Marcia Buker special education team have the knowledge, skills, and disposition to support one another when needed throughout each day.
CERTIFICATE: Candidates must hold a Maine Department of Education Professional
Teaching certificate with Endorsement 282 or be eligible for Endorsement 282.
START DATE: August 2024
SALARY: In accordance with the 2024-2025 wage scale of the teacher collective bargaining
agreement.
