Position: Middle School Math Teacher 
School Year: 2025-2026

Job Description: Hancock Grammar School is seeking a dedicated and skilled math teacher to join our middle level team.  The ideal candidate will be a 
team player, flexible, and embrace the unique challenges of working with middle school students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated math lessons aligned with the Maine Learning Results.
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports the academic and social-emotional needs of all students.
  
• Assess student learning through formal and informal methods, including quizzes, tests, projects, and classwork, and use results to guide instruction.
• Monitor and track student progress, providing regular feedback to students, parents, and school leadership.
• Collaborate with colleagues, including grade-level teams and special education staff, to plan and implement effective instruction and interventions.
• Manage classroom behavior using consistent and positive discipline strategies that align with the Responsive Classroom Approach.
• Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding student performance, progress, and ways to support learning at home.
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices and instructional strategies in math education.
• Contribute to the school community by participating in events, committees, and extracurricular activities as needed.

Qualifications 

• Professional endorsement to teach students in grades 5-8. Conditional certifications will be considered.
• Strong understanding of the Maine Learning Results is preferred.
• Knowledge of Eureka Math 2 Curriculum preferred.
