Instrumental Music Director

Overview:
Great Salt Bay School, renowned for its commitment to comprehensive music education, seeks an experienced Director of Instrumental Music. The ideal candidate will oversee our vibrant instrumental music program, nurturing talent and cultivating a diverse musical environment for middle school students.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and expand the instrumental music program, including bands, and small ensembles.

• Design and implement curriculum that covers a broad range of musical techniques and theories.

• Organize and direct rehearsals, performances, and music competitions.

• Collaborate with faculty to integrate music education across academic disciplines.

• Manage the procurement and maintenance of musical instruments and related equipment.

• Promote a culture of excellence and inclusivity within the music program.

• Mentor and support students in their musical growth and academic achievements.

• Establish connections with local and national music communities to enhance program offerings.

Qualifications:

• Degree in Music Education, Music Performance, or related field.

• Valid teaching certification with a specialization in music.

• Extensive experience in directing school-based instrumental music programs.

• Expertise in a variety of musical styles and proficiency in conducting.

• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to inspire students.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
