This is your opportunity to engage with students at the moment when clinical support is most needed and will have the biggest impact! As the high school clinician, you will have full access to your students, their teachers, and their daily supports. The variety of students makes the job exciting and getting to provide clinical support in multiple settings makes for a flexible work environment. This job supports students in general education as well as through the IEP process and section 28 services. You will have the opportunity to work alongside the IEP case manager, deciding the best course of action to support a student's mental health needs.

Working for Waterville also comes with the direct weekly supervision and support of a clinical director as well as a team of dedicated clinicians who work in the Waterville, Winslow, and Vassalboro Schools for clinical support.

This school year position provides school hours and school vacations making it an ideal position for those working parents or someone who just enjoys the school schedule.

 

Job Goal:

To work within Waterville Public Schools,  providing mental and behavioral health support to general education and special education students and staff.  This clinician will provide clinical services to our Section 28 students. They will provide supervision of school-based day treatment Section 28 services. This entails providing weekly supervision of the Educational Technicians who work with students identified for Section 28 as well as creating and updating required student documentation.

This clinician will also work with the administrative team and guidance department to develop and run supportive programs related to student and staff mental health and wellbeing. While also providing as-needed mental and behavioral health support to students and staff.

 

Qualified applicants must:

  • Be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) or conditional (LMSW-cc), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), or conditional (LCPC-C).
  • Be a team-oriented worker.
  • Have knowledge of child and adolescent development.
  • Have knowledge in building and maintaining individualized Treatment Plans.

Qualified applicants should:

  • Have 2 years of clinical experience.
  • Possess knowledge of Medicaid billing (KEPRO) including prior authorizations, CSR’s and BHP supervision.
  • Have knowledge of MaineCare Section 28 assessments, ITP preparation, and ITP reviews.
  • Have knowledge of positive behavior support plans and behavior programming.
  • Have knowledge of SEL curriculum.
  • Have experience working with students working within a high school setting.
