Westbrook Regional Vocational Center (WRVC), a collaborative Career and Technology Education (CTE) school in Westbrook, Maine, invites applicants for its next Director. The position begins on July 1, 2025.  

WRVC is an inclusive and vibrant regional school serving approximately 400 high school students from Westbrook, RSU 14, Gorham, MSAD 6, and Scarborough, along with other nearby communities. Sixteen programs are offered, all of which lead to certifications and licensures, and many to higher education credits. Numerous courses incorporate integrated high school English, math, and science credits as well. The programs deliver cutting-edge, rigorous, and relevant learning experiences that equip students for various high-wage, high-skill, and high-demand careers. Learning experiences combine content with real-world applications and hands-on work-based learning to prepare students for college and career pathways.

The Director sets the mission and vision for the school and ensures that programs are offered to meet student and industry needs. The Director oversees the daily operations of the school. The Director recruiting, hiring, and supervision of staff, many of whom have transitioned into teaching from their respective fields, and provides continuing professional development in collaboration with teacher leaders. The Center’s staff is small, collaborative, and engaged. The Director manages the annual budget which includes local, state, and federal funding, analyzes enrollment and achievement data, researches and proposes new programs, and continuously evaluates programming. This is done within the Westbrook School Department, along with the WRVC Regional Advisory Committee and individual industry advisory committees. The Director is part of the Westbrook Leadership Team and participates fully with the Superintendent and other principals and directors in the district. The Director engages in regional and state CTE activities, collaborates with area CTE leaders, coordinates community events that promote programs, students, and staff at the Center, and communicates the many stories of WRVC.  Above all, the Director engages with students, inspires them to succeed in their respectove fields, provides counsel in career pathways, and promotes their engagement in school and across the community.
