Job Description: The Cape Elizabeth School Department is a small community on the Atlantic Ocean and minutes from Portland, Maine. We are a high-performing school with expectations of excellence and rigor in all areas of an educator's professional practice. We are seeking an educator who will help the district enhance the delivery of reading instruction in tier III and special education through mentoring, coaching and professional development to tier III reading instructors and special educators throughout the district with an emphasis on K-8. The ideal candidate will have experience as a classroom teacher and special educator, with a deep understanding of the Orton Gillingham approach to reading. An OGA Fellow is preferred. The candidate who is selected would be responsible to train regular educator teachers and special educators in the science of reading and provide ongoing professional development. This would require close collaboration with special educators, and interventionists to identify a model of instruction that flows seamlessly between interventions into specially designed special education instruction. This position will also identify progress monitoring tools, assessment cycles. Lastly, the selected candidate may work with a small number of children. Certification Requirements:
