TITLE: Administrative Assistant
REPORTS TO:
To the Principal for the effective performance of clerical functions in the school.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Education: A high school diploma or equivalent degree.
2. Experience: At least two years in a clerical, office, or customer service position preferred, although not required.
3. Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
4. The ability to work courteously with many kinds of people and to promote positive public relations.
WORK YEAR: Full time employment (40 hours/week). School Year plus 10-days.
JOB GOAL: To assist the Building Administrator in the effective performance of clerical functions in the school.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide office support to the school administrators and school counselors.
2. Perform routine office work including typing on various computer systems, posting, filing, recording, and classifying.
3. Disseminate information to teachers, students, parents and others.
4. Prepare and maintain student records.
5. Assist School Counselors with scheduling, State and District testing, reports, and other needs of the School Counselor Office.
6. Maintain accurate attendance records/reports for state and local requirements.
7. Assist office staff during afternoon student dismissal.
9. Provide office coverage after the student day on designated afternoons.
10. Administer first aid, dispense authorized medications and supervise the injured and sick in the absence of the nurse or other trained office staff.
11. Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
