Description:  Winthrop Public Schools is seeking a qualified individual to fill an open  resource room teaching position. The resource room program supports the learning experience of students with academic and functional needs by implementing district approved curriculum; documenting teaching, student progress/activities and outcomes. 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Coordinate, facilitate and supervise curriculum and specialized programming and support services in compliance with federal and state requirements for students with disabilities in grades 9-12.
• Facilitate the positive transition, placement and curriculum planning for students with special needs into general education classrooms activities.  
• Collect and analyze data from various sources including, formal and informal assessments, observations, performance evaluations, and teacher reports.
• Evaluate students on caseload to progress monitor and determine eligibility. 
• Maintain regular contact with parents of students as needed and/or as determined by IEP.
• Participate in IEP Team meetings, parent conferences, and case management staffing, and transitional meetings as requested.  
• Perform any other tasks/duties required or requested that are related to maintaining services and student records in compliance with Federal and state law, regulation, and policy.

Qualifications:  Maine DOE Certification Special Education Teacher Endorsement 282
