Position Summary
The Superintendent of Schools serves as the chief executive officer of RSU 4 and is responsible for the overall leadership and management of the district. The Superintendent will collaborate with the School Board, administrators, faculty, staff, and the community to ensure that RSU 4 continues to provide exceptional educational opportunities for all students. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, a strong background in education leadership, and a proven ability to manage a school system.

Qualifications
- Education: Master’s degree in Education Leadership, Administration, or a related field.
- Certification: Maine Superintendent Certification (010) or the ability to obtain certification within one year of hire.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in educational leadership or administration, with a strong background in district management and school improvement.
- Demonstrated success in working with community stakeholders.
- Proven ability to build consensus, manage change, and drive district-wide initiatives.
- Strong fiscal management skills with experience in budgeting and resource allocation.
- Skills:
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Proven leadership in educational reform, curriculum development, and staff development.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative school culture.
