Gifted and Talented/Innovation Center Teaching Position- Caribou Community School     

2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR

We are seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic educator to join our team as a Gifted and Talented Teacher and Innovation Center Teacher for grades 3-8. This dual role is perfect for an individual who is passionate about teaching gifted students and fostering a love of learning and innovation. RSU 39 is dedicated to providing a supportive and engaging learning environment for all students. We strive to cultivate a culture of creativity, critical thinking, and lifelong learning. We are committed to meeting the needs of diverse learners through innovative programs and dedicated instruction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement challenging and engaging curriculum for gifted and talented students in grades 3-8.
  • Identify and assess students for the gifted and talented program, ensuring a diverse and inclusive approach.
  • Create a stimulating learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Develop and teach innovative projects and activities in the Innovation Center that promote STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) education.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and parents to support the unique needs of gifted and talented students.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom culture where all students feel valued and inspired.
  • Stay current with educational trends and best practices related to gifted education and innovation.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in Gifted and Talented Education (or willingness to obtain certification).
  • Experience working with gifted and talented students in grades 3-8.
  • Strong understanding of differentiated instruction and ability to design curriculum that meets the needs of diverse learners.
  • Passion for innovation, creativity, and STEAM education.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of educators and support staff.
