Physical Education Instructor for Pre-K–8
The Center for Teaching and Learning, an independent school in Edgecomb, seeks applications for the position of part-time physical education teacher for a .4 position.

CTL’s physical education program has three objectives: to encourage participation in and enjoyment of activities that maintain and increase fitness; to increase student self-confidence as they engage in these activities; and to promote teamwork and cooperation. CTL students have two 45-minute physical education classes per week. They participate in a variety of games, field trips, and challenges consistent with program goals.
Additional responsibilities may include off-site activities, such as organizing skiing, skating, swimming lessons, hiking, or rock-climbing.
The school has a well-equipped gymnasium, as well as grounds that offer a good balance of playing field, playground equipment, and hills for sledding and skiing.
A successful candidate will have:
- Experience coaching or teaching physical education to elementary-age students
- Cooperative philosophy that embraces processing and social/emotional learning
- Experience working with children of various grade levels
- Ability to communicate effectively with parents, classroom teachers, and administrators
