Woodfords Family Services is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join our dedicated team of educators at our Special Purpose Private School (SPPS) in Westbrook, ME! This position is full-time (40 hours per week) and includes a generous benefits and compensation package!

 

Position Summary

Woodfords' Early Childhood Services (ECS) and Special Purpose Private School (SPPS) Programs aim to provide educational and behavioral consultative supports to children (Pre-k through 5th grade) with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities in a therapeutic classroom environment.

The Occupational Therapist will work in collaboration with the clinical team to support the program in delivering treatment-based interventions and services to students within the SPPS program. Essential duties and responsibilities of the O.T. include:

  • Provide occupational therapy to school age children and their families, individually and/or in a small group setting.
  • Provide occupational therapy evaluation to young children who have been referred for assessment.
  • Attend evaluations, IEP's, ITP's and other team meetings as directed.
  • Provide occupational therapy assessments, to include scoring and narrative reports.
  • Provide training/consultation to other programs/agencies in coordination with the Program Director.
  • Provide a safe environment, including but not limited to, the preparation of the therapy room.
  • In collaboration with Program Coordinator, Clinical staff, and classroom lead teachers, develop and maintain schedule and classroom curriculum to support development in identified areas.
  • Provide individual and group occupational therapy, as indicated on the child's IEP or doctor's prescription.
  • Provide consultation to parents, schedule and attend quarterly classroom meetings as needed to support carryover of skills.
  • Attend Lead Teacher meetings to provide consultation and training to staff.

 

Opportunity Details

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00am-4:00pm
  • $65,000 annual starting salary (commensurate with experience & position status)
  • $1,500 Sign-on Bonus! Paid at 6 months of employment

 

Qualifications

  • Must be licensed as an Occupational Therapist in the State of Maine.
  • Must have the skills and training necessary to administer a variety of occupational therapy assessment tools.
  • Experience working with young children in an educational setting.
  • Provides program coordination and services in compliance with Chapter 180 - Early Childhood Special Education Regulations, Section 68 MaineCare, and Rules for the Licensing of Child Care Facilities.
