Falmouth Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Board Certified Behavior Analyst to join our K-2 Special Education team for the 2024-2025 school year. This role involves providing specialized instruction and behavioral support to students with Functional Life Skills (FLS) needs and working as a BCBA. The ideal candidate will have a BCBA certification and a passion for case managing and supporting FLS students, helping them to achieve their fullest potential in both academic and life skills.
Responsibilities:
Instructional Duties -
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to the unique needs of FLS students.
- Deliver engaging, hands-on instruction in life skills, academics, social skills, and vocational training.
- Adapt teaching methods and materials to accommodate various learning styles and abilities.
Behavioral Support -
- Conduct functional behavior assessments and formal behavior observations.
- Develop behavior intervention plans.
- Implement and monitor evidence-based behavioral interventions.
- Collect and analyze data on student behavior to adjust interventions as needed.
- Provide staff training on the implementation of evidence-based interventions and data collection procedures.
Case Management -
- Serve as the case manager for assigned FLS students, coordinating all aspects of their educational program.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and families to support student success.
- Monitor and document student progress, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
Professional Collaboration -
- Work closely with other Special Education team members to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing insights and recommendations based on behavioral and educational data.
- Offer training and support to staff on best practices in behavior management and functional life skills instruction.
- Collaborate with district administration and special education staff to inform behavioral interventions and systems across the district.
- Consult with behavioral strategists and special education teachers to support the use of evidence based behavior interventions across programs.
Other Duties -
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student progress, interventions, and communications.
- Stay current with developments in the field of special education and applied behavior analysis.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Special Education Director or Principal.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Special Education or a similar field.
- Valid Certificate: Special Education (282), Psychology (093), BCBA or Special Education Consulting Teacher (079) with a concentration in autism and emotional disturbances.
- Additional certification in reading programs is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using technology and adaptive tools to support student learning.
- Ability to differentiate instruction and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse student needs.
