Salary Range: $45,760.00 - $54,687.44 annually

A Physical Education Teacher at Watch Me Shine specializes and has experience in kinesiology, education, and/or early intervention. The Gym Teachers primary job duty is to ensure students have enriched programming that will allow them to develop motor skills, play skills, and good overall physical development.The Gym Teacher will provide training, support, and ongoing guidance and supervision to paraprofessionals in their classrooms. Working in conjunction with the special education coordinators, the Gym Teacher will oversee and ensure student programming and student progress. Gym Teachers are expected to learn a variety of early intervention theories and methods, demonstrate mastery level skills working with children with special needs, and be highly motivated and passionate about making a difference in a child’s life.
Essential Functions of the Role:
- Ensure your room is organized for therapeutic and educational purpose; Organize your classroom and work areas to be attractive, organized and motivational for student learning
- Develop and implement physical education activities and exercises for students;
- Monitor and assess student's physical devleopment and progress;
- Provide individualized instruction and support for students;
- Teach students within program standards, ensuring high quality early interventions for all;
- Ensure daily progress tracking is accurate and complete;
- Oversee, support, and train paraprofessionals working in the gym classroom
- Manage and maintain gym equipment and facilities; and
- Communicate effectively with team members and other stakeholders about student progress and any issues that arise.
Qualifications:
- Preferred: Bachelors or higher in kinesiology, early intervention, or special education preferred
- Candidates must pass an extensive criminal background check.
