Statement of the job: The University of Maine at Farmington (UMF) seeks applicants to fill the position of part-time, seasonal Head Coach for Ultimate Disc- Club Sports. The Head Coach leads and develops a team of dedicated athletes; fostering a culture of teamwork, skill development, and sportsmanship. The purpose of the club is to spread information about the sport of Ultimate Disc, as well as to provide a safe, fun environment in which students can exercise and compete on a team.
A typical season January through March. The seasonal salary for this position is $2,000.
Essential Duties:
- Attends most practices, tournaments, and spring season games; notifies the club president and team leadership if unable to attend practice sessions or games.
- Instructs members on the rules and way of ultimate disc.
- Maintains annual paid membership to the USA Ultimate Association or equivalent.
- Must be familiar with UMS Code of Conduct and the UMF Club Sports Code of Conduct.
- Addresses and mediates any misconduct within the team leadership and/or team members; consults with the supervisor as needed for possible violations.
- Collaborates with team leadership to organize the fall calendar of tournaments in New England and competitions in the Spring semester.
- Participate in the annual review process.
- Works collaboratively with other Club Sport Coaches.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must hold the basic Certified Coaching Certificate through the USA Ultimate Association or an equivalent certification.
- Complete the USA Ultimate Online SafeSport Training.
- Understanding /knowledge of concussion protocol processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- One (1) to two (2) years of coaching experience at the college/university level.
- USA Ultimate Coaching Certificate.
- Certified in American Red Cross CPR and AED training.
- Valid Driver’s License (in good standing based on UMS standards).
