Description

Brooksville Elementary School is a small, rural school near picturesque Holbrook Island Sanctuary State Park and the setting of Robert McCloskey’s book One Morning In Maine. Our elementary school serves about 45 students from preschool through grade eight. We seek a full-time special education teacher for the 2025-2026 school year. 

Requirements: 

Maine State certification as a Teacher of Exceptional Students (282)

Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Special Education 

Responsibilities :

  • Regular communication with parents
  • Delivery of specially designed instruction to students with disabilities
  • Case Management for Students with IEPs
  • Collaboration with other teachers and specialists to support students with IEPs
  • Implementation of positive behavior plans 
  • Coordinate and lead IEP meetings
  • Coach and supervise Ed Techs
  • Timely completion of special education paperwork
  • Administration and interpretation of diagnostic academic evaluations
