The Ellsworth School Department anticipates openings for Paraprofessionals (Ed Techs) at II and III levels of certification for the Fall of 2024.  You can make a difference in the lives of children by supporting special needs students. 

Responsibilities: 

Supports direct academic and behavioral instruction to children individually, in small groups, and in classroom settings

Provides assistance with classroom activities

Assist in preparing differentiated instructional materials as determined by Special Educator

Assists in managing behaviors using prescribed approaches provided through training Supervises students on field trip activities.

 Perform other related duties as requested by administration. 

There are opportunities for additional hours for after school tutoring, extended school year employment, and transportation aide during school and extended school year.

 Base pay (0 years of experience) is $19.08 per hour for Ed Tech I's, $19.82 for Ed Tech II's  and $21.72 for Ed Tech III's, pay increases with years of relative experience.  Benefits include 100% paid single subscriber health insurance, sick leave, personal days and longevity days. 

The ideal candidate is caring, is compassionate, and is dedicated to student success.  

  • An Ed Tech II needs 60 college credits to be certified.  
  • An Ed Tech III requires 90 college credits for certification.
