K- 6 Elementary Music Teacher
2025-2026 School Year
Qualifications: Valid Maine Department of Education teaching certification with proper endorsement
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
? Identify, promote and develop each student's talents in vocal and instrumental musical expression
? Develop and administer music education curriculum consistent with school department goals and objectives
? Develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide customized, small and large group instruction forgrades K-12 with a focus on general music lessons K-6
? Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to create a classroom atmosphere conducive tolearning
? Regularly assess each student’s academic and social growth, maintain appropriate and timely records, and prepareprogress reports
? Plan, coordinate rehearsals for, and direct students in musical programs and performances outside the classroom
? Communicate frequently with parents through conferences and other means such as newsletters, email, phonecalls, student information system postings (as applicable), web pages, blogs, and other electronic means to discussstudent’s progress as it relates to curriculum
? Create an effective learning environment through a variety of learning tools
? Continue professional growth through various means such as professional learning communities, conferences,workshops, professional memberships and readings, etc.
? Maintain technological proficiency for purposes of instruction, reporting and communicating
? Vary instructional techniques to address individual learning styles
? Advance the vision, the mission and school improvement efforts of the school district
? Participate in parent conferences, open houses, and other required school events based on the responsibilities ofthe assigned position
? Other job-related duties as assigned by the Building Principal
