Are you a dynamic, visionary leader passionate about shaping the future of education? MSAD 15, serving the growing communities of Gray and New Gloucester, Maine, is seeking a dedicated Superintendent of Schools to lead our district into a bright and innovative future.

Who We Are
MSAD 15 is a thriving, student-focused district committed to excellence in education. With a total enrollment of approximately 1,800 pre-K to grade 12 students across five schools in two towns, we are dedicated to fostering academic achievement, social-emotional growth, and inclusive learning environments. 

To prepare students for success in a rapidly evolving world, MSAD 15 offers a range of innovative pathways and programs. Some of these highlights include: 

  • One of only three high schools in Maine to offer an International Baccalaureate (IB) degree program, where 47% of juniors and seniors are enrolled in at least one IB course
  • Consistently the highest sending district per capita to Portland Arts and Technology High School (PATHS)
  • A full time outdoor educator and greenhouse embedded in instruction
  • 75% of entering kindergarteners come from our voluntary pre-K program
  • 1:1 technology devices for all learners 
  • Majority of 5th to 12th grade students participating in one of dozens of co-curricular activities, including more than 30 sports and unified athletics teams

 

MSAD 15 has two K-2 elementary schools, one Pre-K/3-4 elementary school, a 5-8 middle school and a 9-12 high school. The District takes pride in maintaining the buildings, grounds, and facilities throughout the community. MSAD 15 recently won a Maine DOE funding grant to update ventilation at four schools, which will be completed in 2025. The 2024-2025 District budget is approximately $31 million.

The Opportunity
As Superintendent, you will:

  • Inspire and support a dedicated team of educators and employees.
  • Collaborate with families, community members, and the school board to drive educational innovation.
  • Lead with integrity and a commitment to providing all children equitable access to their educational journey.
  • Oversee strategic planning, budget management, and resource allocation to meet district goals.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven leadership experience in education administration.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • A vision for academic excellence, community partnerships, and student success.
  • Maine Department of Education Superintendent certification (or certified outside of Maine and eligible for Maine certification).
