We are seeking a compassionate and skilled School-Based Social Worker to join our team and support students' emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs.

Job Overview:

As a School-Based Social Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the well-being and success of our students. You will work closely with students, families, teachers, and administrators to address a range of social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.  This position is part-time, requiring a commitment of 3 days per week.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Completes student assessments for the purpose of providing diagnostic feedback for eligibility consideration under IDEA or Section 504 of the ADA.
  • Provides individual counseling services and or social skills instruction for identified students.
  • Provides staff training regarding social-emotional wellness, and mental and behavioral health interventions.
  • Participates in IEP and 504 team meetings, and MTSS teams, as appropriate.
  • Provides written progress reports at each term reporting period and each annual IEP review meeting.
  • Maintains a caseload of assigned students in compliance with MUSER.
  • Maintains records for each student following FERPA protocols.
  • Works in cooperation with other school personnel to promote social, and emotional growth of students.
  • Works in cooperation with home and community resources to support positive social and emotional experiences for students.
  • Conduct screenings for threat and risk assessments as well as the C-SSRS.
  • Keeps teachers and staff with educational interest informed of student needs/circumstances when such knowledge has a bearing on educational programs and outcomes.
  • Facilitate crisis intervention protocols and processes as appropriate, and serve as a member of the school crisis intervention team.
  • Attends staff and PLC meetings regularly.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Social Work (MSW) from an accredited institution.
  • State licensure as a School Social Worker (or ability to obtain licensure).
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a school or similar setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with students, families, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices, conflict resolution, and crisis intervention.
  • Passion for supporting students' mental health and academic success in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
