RSU 87 is seeking a knowledgeable, collaborative candidate to join our special education team in supporting students with disabilities. This position requires strong leadership and communication skills, desire to be a part of a team, knowledge of special education paperwork and ability to teach literacy, math, social skills and/or executive functioning skills. Maine DOE 282 endorsement preferred. A $2,000 stipend is provided.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:
~Ability to provide specially designed instruction and consultation services in reading, writing, math, and executive functioning
~Experience implementing positive behavior intervention plans
~Experience writing IEPs
~Ability to coordinate and lead IEP meetings
~Experience completing special education paperwork
~Knowledge of state and federal special education regulations
~Excellent communication skills
~Ability to supervise educational technicians
~Willingness to be flexible
