Mountain Valley Middle School in Mexico, ME is looking for a GT(Gifted/Talented) Teacher (690 certification)FT, to work as part of the education team.

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Gifted and Talented Teacher to join out team! This position requires Maine Department of Education certification for Gifted and Talented (Endorsement #690). The ideal candidate will have a passion for nurturing and challenging advanced learners while fostering the creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, especially in the subject areas of math and language arts, in grades 5-8.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized and group enrichment plans for indentified students.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and staff to integrate gifted education strategies.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction to meet their needs.
- Communicate effectively with parents and stakeholders regarding student growth.
Qualifications:
- Maine DOE certification for Gifted and Talented (690) or eligibility to obtain certification.
- Strong understanding of gifted education pedagogy and curriculum differentiation.
- Excllent interpersonal and organiational skills.
We are 45-60 minutes from Lewiston/Auburn and 90 minutes from Portland. We have great outdoor recreation and children who need you!
We will consider Conditional certfications, if you haven't earned your full Porfessional certification.
Benefit for Teachers: If a newly hired teacher (to RSU 10) is professionally certified and chooses not to take courses their first year, they qualify for up to $2500 towards existing student loans.
