POSITION TITLE: Accounts Receivable/Insurance Billing Specialist
REPORTS TO: CDS Finance Director
SALARY RANGE: $18.96 - $26.63 per hour
This is a 40 hour per week, calendar year position at our CDS State Office in Augusta. Hybrid remote schedule is possible following a training period.
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION
This position will provide accounts receivable and medical billing services, which include invoicing MaineCare and private insurance companies for services performed by CDS-employed therapists.
Permitted Performance Responsibilities
The CDS Accounts Receivable/Insurance Billing Specialist will:
- Maintain A/R system and provide assistance to the CDS regional sites regarding invoicing.
- Work with a Staff Accountant in reconciling A/R to the General Ledger Accounts.
- Keep informed with current billing practices for MaineCare and private insurance companies.
- Cross-train within the Accounting Department to maintain department stability.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 3-5 years experience in Bookkeeping and/or Accounting
- 1-2 years experience in medical billing with MaineCare and/or private insurance
- Knowledge of Excel and Word
- Attention to Detail and Team Player
- Experience working in a Confidential setting
- Effective Communication skills
- Knowledge of Child Development Services and/or Early Childhood Special Ed is helpful
