Occupational Therapist, Contracted Position

Position: Occupational Therapist, Contracted Position
Location: Across schools in MSAD #11

Time: 20 hours per school week

MSAD #11 is dedicated to fostering a supportive and inclusive educational environment for all students. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Occupational Therapist to join our team on a contract basis, providing essential services to students with diverse needs.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to evaluate students' fine motor skills, sensory processing, and other areas impacting their educational success.
• Develop and implement individualized plans based on students’ needs and goals as outlined in their Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
• Collaborate with teachers, special educators, and families to integrate therapy strategies across environments.
• Document progress, maintain accurate records, and contribute to IEP meetings as needed.
• Provide consultation and training to staff to support students’ development and access to the curriculum.
• Stay current with best practices and emerging trends in occupational therapy within school settings.

Qualifications:

• Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
• Current Maine Department of Education Criminal History Record Check.
• Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
• Knowledge of federal and state regulations related to special education preferred but not required.
