NURSE’S AIDE

The Brewer School Department is seeking a caring and motivated individual to fill the full-time (school-year) position of Nurse’s Aide at Brewer Community School. This individual will assist in providing health services to students, promote wellness, and contribute to a safe and healthy school environment. A current CHRC Approval from the Maine Department of Education is required.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following abilities and experiences:

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and follow instructions
  • Experience working with children or in a school setting
  • CPR and First Aid certification

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help administer medications and treatments as directed by the School Nurse.
  • Assist in inventory of prescription medication and notification of parents regarding medications needed. 
  • Provide first aid and basic care for minor injuries and illnesses.
  • Assist in maintenance of accurate health records and documentation.
  • Assist the School Nurse in conducting required health screenings for students.
  • Assist in inventory of health office supplies and first aid supplies. 
  • Support the implementation of individualized health plans for students.
  • Assist with health promotion activities and wellness initiatives.
