Grade 6 Teacher

The Brewer School Department is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join the Brewer Community School Grade 6 team for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following skills, abilities, and qualifications:

• Valid State of Maine DOE Teacher Certification and current CHRC Approval
• Develop and implement engaging and interactive lesson plans including interdisciplinary units
• Incorporate technology and hands-on activities to enhance learning and help students build practical science skills
• Assess student progress through assignments, projects, quizzes, and exams, and provide timely feedback
• Strong classroom management skills
• Understand the social, emotional, and academic needs of middle level students
• Communicate effectively and regularly with students, parents, and colleagues
• Contribute and work collaboratively with a grade-level team
• Utilize data to inform and improve instruction
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development activities, school events, and possibly, extracurricular opportunities
