Mid-Coast School of Technology in Rockland, Maine is seeking an on call bus driver for the 2024-25 school year. The driver will be responsible for driving students and chaperones on field trips and other route assignments. Requirements include a current Maine Class B License with a school bus driver endorsement. The candidate must also pass a background check and obtain current CHRC certificiation through the Maine Department of Education. Drug and alcoholo pre-employment testing is required as well as a pre-employment physical. Responsibilities:

• Follow route assignment as directed, ensuring all students are picked up and dropped off in a timely manner.
• Safely operate all school buses, conforming to traffic rules and regulations at all times including all local and state school laws applicable to student transportation.
• Complete all required documentation/paperwork including but not limited to: daily trip log, incident reports, accident reports, daily school bus pre-trip inspections and inform Director of Maintenance of any vehicle malfunctions or mechanical concerns.
• Maintain the necessary amount of gasoline in assigned school bus or in a temporarily assigned bus.
• Ensure students’ behavior while on the school bus as appropriate. Take suitable action to resolve incidents between/among students should such incidents occur. Report all incidents to the Director or Assistant Director.

• Establishes and maintains effective and courteous working relationships with superiors, fellow workers, students, parents and members of the public at large.

• Ability to operate a wheel chair lift bus and properly secure tie downs, if assigned.

• Comply with all school policies, procedures and in accordance with the Staff Handbook.

• Ability to work under minimal supervision.
