Job Goal: To provide instruction and training that develops a strong foundation
of basic trades and construction skills for our Multilingual population
preparing students for careers in the building trades utilizing the National
Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) curriculum and
certification program.
Essential
Functions:
1. To instruct and motivate students to develop skills and knowledge
that encourage individual growth in the Trades career field. Work
collaboratively with colleagues to improve student achievement.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Teach fundamental skills, knowledge, concepts and work skills in basic building
construction and trades processes utilizing approved coursework and other
appropriate learning activities .
2. Prepare, maintain and submit timely and accurate records, reports, files and
documentation as assigned on each student enrolled, including but not limited to,
diagnostic and assessment information, student goals and objectives, conference
and contact notes
3. Ensure that all curriculum is up-to-date and effective instructional delivery
methods are employed.
4. Administers written and practical exams.
5. Integrate basic technology into curriculum and lessons, able to utilize a Learning
Management System for coursework.

6. Assist in the maintenance of supplies and equipment assigned, including and not
limited to inventory of supplies and equipment, supervising the use of supplies
and equipment, instruction in the proper use of supplies and operation of
equipment and the preventative maintenance and repairs of assigned supplies
and equipment.
7. Responsible for attending professional development programming as directed.
8. Maintain positive connections with potential employers to assist with
Apprenticeship placement.
9. Model executive skills to students and other staff; time management,
organization, planning and prioritizing
10. Provide appropriate referrals for students to agencies and professional services
when necessary.
11. Active Adult Education staff team member participating in student recognitions,
and other Apprenticeship program events.
12. Share knowledge and application and assist other instructors in curriculum
alignment.
Terms of
Employment:
Part-time intermittent - This is a grant funded position.
The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud. Duties are performed indoors and occasionally outdoors.
