We are currently looking for an individual to join our elementary school team as a half-time administrative assistant.
Job Description:
Part-time hours: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Location: Marcia Buker Elementary School main office
Team: One of a two-person admin assistant team, serving the school, families, and building administrator:
- Serve as a key point of contact, warmly welcoming and assisting students, families, and visitors
- Manage a variety of day-to-day administrative functions efficiently and effectively
- Maintain accurate records in digital student information system
- Prepare purchase requisition requests and inventory shipments
- Review and process employee timesheets
- Assist in preparing and distributing school communications, such as calendars, newsletters, and announcements
- Coordinate schedules and logistics for school events and activities, ensuring smooth operation and execution
- Monitor afternoon bus radio and assist drivers who may need to contact parents
- Maintain an organized and welcoming front office environment
Qualifications:
- (CHRC) Criminal Record History Check authorization from Maine DOE
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher
- Experience in administrative assistant roles, preferably within an educational setting.
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Excellent communication skills; adept in both written and verbal exchanges.
- Proficiency with Google Workspace (docs, sheets) and experience with educational management and purchasing software. (We will train the right person)
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information.
