Every member of our team is critical to achieving that goal. We are currently looking for an individual to join our elementary school team as a half-time administrative assistant. 

Job Description:

Part-time hours: 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Location: Marcia Buker Elementary School main office

Team: One of a two-person admin assistant team, serving the school, families, and building administrator:

  • Serve as a key point of contact, warmly welcoming and assisting students, families, and visitors
  • Manage a variety of day-to-day administrative functions efficiently and effectively
  • Maintain accurate records in digital student information system
  • Prepare purchase requisition requests and inventory shipments
  • Review and process employee timesheets
  • Assist in preparing and distributing school communications, such as calendars, newsletters, and announcements
  • Coordinate schedules and logistics for school events and activities, ensuring smooth operation and execution
  • Monitor afternoon bus radio and assist drivers who may need to contact parents
  • Maintain an organized and welcoming front office environment

Qualifications:

  • (CHRC) Criminal Record History Check authorization from Maine DOE
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree or higher
  • Experience in administrative assistant roles, preferably within an educational setting.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills; adept in both written and verbal exchanges.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (docs, sheets) and experience with educational management and purchasing software. (We will train the right person)
  • Commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information.

Benefits: Commensurate with experience and Collective Bargaining Agreement
