RSU 29 seeks Alternative Education Teacher for Summit Academy, 2025-2026 School Year
Qualifications: Valid Maine DOE certification, 9-12 teaching experience perferred, math/science content desired.
Responibilities include, but not limited to:
Providing learning opportunities in an alternative education setting; develop lesson plans and instructional materials to provide customized, small and large group instruction. Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to create a classroom atmosphere conducive to learning. Administer standardized and common assessments in accordance with district and state assessment schedules, work in collaboration with the sending school staff and administrators that make up the Southern Aroostook Area Regional Service Center. Maintain technological proficiency for purposes of instruction, reporting and communicating. Assit students with college applications, career planning and the coordination of extended learning opportunities. Participate in parent conferences, open houses and other required school events. Other job-related duties as assigned by the Regional Service Center Executive Director.
Proper Maine DOE certification and background check required for all positions.
