Description:
RSU # 73 is looking for a caring, compassionate, and patient educational technician II to join the primary school special education team full-time working with students with disabilities in grades K-2. Students in the program have a wide variety of academic and functional needs that must be addressed in ways that foster student development, and growth. Successful candidates will closely collaborate with program team members to manage student behaviors, implement IEPs and behavior plans, introduce new learning preplanned with the classroom teacher or academic content teacher, and support students in the regular and special education setting in both small groups and one on one to meet students’ unique needs. Some students require personal care and communication assistance. On-the-job guidance will be provided.
Qualifications / Certifications Required:
- Must be eligible and apply for or have authorization as and educational technician II through the Maine Department of Education (MDOE).
- Maine State Law requires all school employees to be fingerprinted and pass a Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) for the Department of Education.

- Experience working with students with social and emotional challenges is preferred.
