Summary:

Winthrop Public Schools is seeking a dynamic leader for the position of Transportation Director. Winthrop Public Schools serves approximately 810 students in grades PreK through twelve in central Maine.  The Transportation Director is responsible for the efficient and effective operation of the district’s transportation department. 

Basic Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

  • Exceptional personal, organizational and communication skills;
  • Strong supervisory skills and able to work collaboratively as a team;
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws, codes, rules and regulations related to transportation;
  • Detail oriented with strong technological skills;
  • Proven success developing and managing an annual budget;
  • Flexibility, time management and prioritization skills; 
  • Able to work independently.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • CDLB license with P and S endorsement preferred
  • Prior experience in transportation in an educational or similar institution
  • Prior management experience
