TITLE: Teacher
QUALIFICATIONS:
- State certification for grade level and / or subject area.
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Prior teaching experience
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed appropriate and acceptable by the Board of Education.
REPORTS TO: Principal
SUPERVISES: Students
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the time designated.
- Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
- Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
- Maintains standards of classroom behavior.
- Strives to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
- Evaluates student progress on a regular basis.
- Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
- Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board of Education policy.
- Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes.
- Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
- Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
- Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
- Provides for professional growth, to include maintaining certification requirements.
- And all other duties as assigned by the School Board / Superintendent / building Principal and / or immediate supervisor.
EVALUATION:
Performance shall be evaluated by the Principal in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Education’s policy on evaluation of professional staff.
