Full Job Description

TITLE: Teacher

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. State certification for grade level and / or subject area.
  2. Bachelor’s Degree
  3. Prior teaching experience
  4. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as deemed appropriate and acceptable by the Board of Education.

REPORTS TO: Principal

SUPERVISES: Students

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and at the time designated.
  2. Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning.
  3. Prepares for classes assigned, and shows written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
  4. Maintains standards of classroom behavior.
  5. Strives to implement by instruction and action the district’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives.
  6. Evaluates student progress on a regular basis.
  7. Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation.
  8. Assists in upholding and enforcing school rules, administrative regulations, and Board of Education policy.
  9. Makes provisions for being available to students and parents for education-related purposes.
  10. Attends and participates in faculty meetings.
  11. Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  12. Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials.
  13. Provides for professional growth, to include maintaining certification requirements.
  14. And all other duties as assigned by the School Board / Superintendent / building Principal and / or immediate supervisor.

EVALUATION:

Performance shall be evaluated by the Principal in accordance with the provisions of the Board of Education’s policy on evaluation of professional staff.
