Position Overview

The successful candidate will teach multiple Physics and Physical Science levels, including College Preparatory and Advanced Placement courses. This full-time position offers the opportunity to work with highly talented colleagues and motivated students in a collaborative and supportive educational environment.

Essential Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging instruction for various levels of Physics and Physical Science courses
• Prepare students for success in Advanced Placement Physics examinations
• Design and conduct laboratory experiments and demonstrations
• Maintain a safe laboratory environment
• Collaborate with Science Department colleagues
• Participate in department meetings and professional development opportunities
• Support students through additional help sessions and academic advisory
• Contribute to our school community through attending and participating in extracurricular activities

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in Physics, Physical Science, or related field
• Maine Teaching Certification or eligibility to obtain certification
• Strong content knowledge in Physics and Physical Sciences
• Experience with laboratory instruction and safety protocols
• Excellent communication and organizational skills

Preferred:

• Master's degree in Physics or Education qualifying you to teach dual-enrollment courses
• Advanced Placement teaching experience
• 3+ years of teaching experience
• Experience with educational technology and online learning platforms
