JMG is looking to hire two new Instructional Designers starting in January 2025.
Instructional Designers play a pivotal role in designing, building, and structuring content for JMG's Learning Management System (LMS). Working alongside JMG’s other Instructional Designers, the position involves collaboration with JMG Specialists, curriculum consultants, community partners, and other stakeholders to create engaging and effective learning resources. The successful candidate will contribute to developing credit and credential pathways for students, ensuring alignment with JMG's educational objectives and with state and national standards. In addition to content development, the Instructional Designer will serve as a subject matter expert on curriculum implementation, guiding both classroom-based and ELO delivery methods to internal and external stakeholders.
Specific Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Education, or a related field. Current teaching certification preferred.
- Proven experience in instructional design, curriculum development, and content creation. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems and educational technologies.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- An interest in/passion for Maine Education
- A high level of accountability and energized by finding creative solutions to new situations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with computer-based design and utilization of design solutions such as Canva.
- Experience in creating highly engaging digital content for various audiences.
The start date for this position is January 2025.
Working Conditions
This year-round, full-time position is primarily remote and will be based in a home office. Semi-frequent travel within Maine may be required.
Compensation for these positions is $55,000. This position starts with 15 days of vacation time, 15 days of sick time, plus one additional week of COVID-19 time if needed. This role will also have an additional week of vacation at Christmas and an additional week of vacation the week of the Fourth of July holiday.
