Deer Isle-Stonington Elementary School is located in the heart of Maine’s picturesque coastline on the beautiful island of Deer Isle, which comprises the towns of Deer Isle and Stonington. Stonington, a working waterfront, holds the title of the largest lobstering port in the world. Many of our students hold fishing licenses before driver's licenses!
Deer Isle - Stonington Elementary School, part of SU 76 and CSD 13 is a small, vibrant, and welcoming elementary school serving approximately 250 students from PreK - 8th grades.

Job Responsibilities
- Collaborates with the teacher in daily and long range lesson and classroom activity planning.
- Conducts independent learning activities with individual students or groups of students that reinforce and review learning and introduce new learning as planned with the teacher.
- Prepares materials and assists students in cooperation with the teacher, which may include assistance in the same room with the teacher or in small groups in a separate room.
- Evaluates student progress and achievement in cooperation with the teacher.
- Supervises children and helps to maintain individual records for children.
- Makes provision for and participates in meetings with the students and parents outside the regular instructional day when requested by the teacher to do so under reasonable circumstances.
- Maintains individual records for each child.
- Assists with the supervision of children.
- Keeps up to date on changes and developments in education by attending conferences and workshops, reading educational journals, and discussing topics of mutual interest with others in the field.
- Maintains appropriate state authorization as an Educational Technician III.
- Performs other duties as needed that may be requested by the teacher or principal.
Requirements
-Certification as Ed Tech III
(Will consider Ed Tech I or II certification if willing to be trained for Ed Tech III)
-Proven experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
-Strong communication and collaboration skills.
-Criminal History Record Check (CHRC)
