Title: Educational Technician III Numeracy/Literacy

Qualifications:
- Satisfactory completion of two years of college/university or 90 college credit hours
- Maintains or is eligible for Maine State Authorization as Educational Technician III
- Participation in ongoing inservice training
- Evidence of successful experience and background in working with young people
- Ability to work collaborate with others
Reports to: Building principal, Curriculum Director/Instructional Consultants
Job Goal: To assist the teacher(s) to achieve academic, functional and behavioral objectives for students.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Works with and engages individual students or small groups of students to review and reinforce academic skills (i.e., learning previously introduced by the classroom teacher or appropriate content specialist) both inside and outside of the classroom as directed and supervised as necessary. Educational Technician IIIs are allowed to plan for new learning for students and are provided planning time if applicable.
Such duties include but are not limited to:
- Maintaining classroom expectations of students
- Assisting students on activities outside of the classroom (field trips, etc.)
- Performing instructional duties (assists in practice activities, etc.)
- Assisting the teacher(s) in other duties compatible with the job classification and,
- Performing non-instructional functions
- Always works in a manner that meets professional responsibilities regarding regular and special education requirements, including attending meetings and related consultations as directed, maintaining knowledge of students goals,progress, and accommodations, attending and documenting professional development as directed, maintaining confidentiality (FERPA) of student information, and following school board policies and procedures at all times.
- Completes other duties as assigned.

The employee is frequently required to sit, stand, climb stairs, lift (ranging from 25-75 lbs depending on student size), bend, pull, push, walk, kneel, crouch, and perform other physical tasks that may be required from time to time.
Terms of Employment: Salary, work year and working conditions to be established by the RSU 57 School Board.
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the School Board’s policy on evaluation.
