Special Services Preschool Nurse (PRN)

Position Title: Special Services Preschool Nurse(PRN)

As a Special Services Preschool Nurse(PRN), you will deliver measurable results in supporting our school nursing program to ensure the health and wellness of both the organization and the students we serve. You will prevent and manage illness and health problems, support the implementation of COVID-19 procedures, and promote the health and safety of preschool students. Additionally, you will work to foster a safe and healthy environment for all.

Reports to:  Director of Special Education and Preschool Special Services Program Coordinator

Qualifications:

• Possess a current license as a Registered Nurse Valid Maine Registered Professional Nurse license
• Eligible for certification as a school nurse (524)  from the Maine Department of Education 
• Three (3) years experience as a professional registered nurse
• A baccalaureate degree is required. If a candidate does not have a baccalaureate degree, he/she must be matriculating in a program to gain a baccalaureate degree when applying for certification. 
• Current certification in CPR/AED for healthcare providers. 

Terms of Employment: Salary based on the current KAKEA Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement with additional per diem days as needed to meet compliance, evaluation, and case management responsibilities.

Evaluation:  Performance of this job will be evaluated by the building administrator.
