The KidsPeace Old Town School is a special purpose private school serving youth ages 3-22 with developmental disabilities and emotional disorders.
Job Summary: As a BCBA at KidsPeace, you will take the lead in developing, implementing, and monitoring behavioral interventions and supports for our education-only (ages 3-20) and residential (ages 8-20) clientele with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and other behavioral and social/communication challenges. You will consult with and educate instructional team members, collaborate with various stakeholders, and supervise direct service team members to ensure effective and compassionate care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Behavioral Treatment: Plan, develop, and monitor behavioral interventions and supports. Conduct intake assessments, identify and utilize appropriate behavior assessments, and develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Data Management: Define target behaviors, design and implement data collection systems, monitor behavior data, and provide detailed progress notes.
- Program Development: Develop and implement skill acquisition programs and positive behavior support plans. Adjust treatment packages as needed based on client progress.
- Team Collaboration: Work with interdisciplinary teams through meetings and discussions. Provide staff development, training, and modeling for effective behavioral strategies.
- Documentation and Compliance: Ensure accurate and timely completion of clinical, billing, and program-related forms. Maintain documentation in accordance with BACB guidelines and support BCBA Supervisor with audits and compliance.
- Professional Growth: Participate in ongoing professional development activities, including conferences and training sessions. Provide consultation on crisis interventions and critical incident supports.
Qualifications:
- Certification: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) certification in good standing with the BACB is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar field required; experience working with clients with autism or behavioral challenges preferred.
- Education: Master’s degree in Human Services or a related field preferred.
- Skills: Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills. Ability to develop and implement effective behavioral interventions and support systems. Proficiency in basic computer skills.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Able to perform physical tasks as required.
- Flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, may be necessary.
- Ability to travel independently to various locations.
- Capable of performing light office duties, including extended periods of typing.
- Minor exposure to environmental conditions may occur.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Trained and certified in current KidsPeace approved restraint methodology.
