Job Title: Evening Custodian

Location: Great Salt Bay School

Position Summary:
The Full-Time Evening Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for students, staff, and visitors. This role is critical in ensuring the school is prepared for the next day’s activities.

Work Schedule:
1:30 PM - 9:30 PM
248 workdays per year

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cleaning and Maintenance:
    • Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors in classrooms, hallways, and common areas.
    • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including replenishing supplies.
    • Empty trash cans and dispose of waste appropriately.
    • Dust and wipe down surfaces, including desks, tables, and windows.
  • Event Support:
    • Assist with setting up and breaking down furniture for school events.
    • Ensure event areas are clean and ready for use.
  • Equipment Management:
    • Maintain cleaning equipment in good working order.
    • Report any equipment malfunctions to the facilities manager.

Qualifications:

  • Previous custodial experience preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
  • Good communication skills for interacting with staff and reporting issues.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
