Lewiston Adult Education Programs Coordinator and Counselor

Position Title: Coordinator/Counselor
Department: Adult Education
Reports to: Director of Adult Education
Summary: Coordinates instructional programming and provides advising services to adult learners.

Salary: 24.87/hr - 30.62/hr

Serves as Chief HiSET examiner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (Other duties may be assigned)
Student Interfacing Responsibilities: (75% time)

Conducts student intakes, advising and class placement

• Conducts student assessments
• Monitors student enrollment and retention
• Supports the management of the waitlist
• Coordinates the HiSET testing program and serves as Chief HiSET examiner for the
• program

Teacher and Staff Interfacing Responsibilities: (15% time)

• Oversees the development and implementation of instructional curriculum and
• assessment
• Creates schedules for all teachers and support staff
• Assists with supervision of teachers and staff as needed
• Provides coaching to teachers
• Manages volunteers and tutors
• Participates as a member of the LAE management team

Administrative Responsibilities: (10% time)

• Assists with data collection and grant reporting
• Assists with payroll, purchases, and invoicing as needed
• Assists with grant writing and grant oversight as appropriate
• Collaborates with community agencies/organizations throughout Lewiston and the HUB
• Participates in special projects as assigned by the Director

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s Degree in Adult Education or Counseling
preferred. Experience teaching adult learners preferred
Hours:
Day and evening hours required, full time.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Teaching certification preferred
