Specific Job Details:

This is a full-time year-round position working with our diverse population of adult learners as Community Education Coordinator. We are seeking a dedicated and motivated professional to join our team. The ideal candidate will support the director in overseeing adult education programs, ensuring program excellence, and fostering an environment that promotes lifelong learning. This role is critical to maintaining high standards in curriculum delivery, student engagement, and community outreach. Biddeford Adult Education is a community-based program offering a wide range of academic, vocational, and enrichment classes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in planning, implementing, and evaluating adult education academic, vocational, and enrichment programming.
  • Participate in fiscal management and planning.
  • Provide leadership to instructors and staff, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and educational standards.
  • Coordinate program logistics, such as class schedules, instructor assignments, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor and analyze program performance metrics, including enrollment, retention, and completion rates.
  • Support professional development initiatives for instructors and staff.
  • Build partnerships with community organizations, businesses, and educational institutions to enhance program offerings and visibility.
  • Assist with grant applications, reporting, and compliance with funding requirements.
  • Address student concerns and ensure a supportive learning environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience in adult education or program administration.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with adult education pedagogy and curriculum development.
  • Fiscal management experience.
  • Experience working with diverse populations and an understanding of their unique educational needs.
Certification/License:
  1. Criminal History Record Check (CHRC), which includes Fingerprints on file with the Maine Department of Education
