Psychiatric Technician

MaineHealth Behavioral Health is seeking Full Time, Part Time and Per Diem Psych Techs to join our care team! We have positions available working with children, adolescents, and adults requiring acute mental health treatment.

Position Highlights:

  • Sign-on bonus: Up to $2,000, amount prorated for part-time

What you will do:

  • Develop a working knowing of therapeutic interventions and interactions for common diagnosis of population served.
  • Maintain the unit schedule and facilitate timely transitions.
  • Assist patients with Daily Living Skills (ADLs) as directed by an RN

Responsibilities

  • Follow patient’s treatment and behavior plan.
  • Conduct environmental rounds as assigned and remove any sharps or prohibited items.
  • Facilitate milieu based community groups and leisure/recreation groups
  • Accompany patients on transports as assigned

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) – “What you will need”:

  • Education: High School diploma and equivalent experience preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Psychology or Social Services preferred.
  • No prior experience needed.
