SUMMARY:

Winthrop Public Schools is seeking a dynamic educational leader for the position of Winthrop Grade School Principal. Winthrop Grade School serves 375 students in grades PreK through fifth in central Maine.  The Grade School Principal provides instructional leadership to staff including curriculum planning, review and implementation, and professional development. This position is also responsible for building administration and the safety and welfare of students and staff. 

QUALIFICATIONS and/or EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of master’s degree
• Maine principal certification (040)
• At least five years combined successful experience in teaching and administration,
• Experienced with staff support, supervision, and evaluation,
• A commitment to improving student learning, fostering a positive school climate and working collaboratively with school staff,
• The knowledge and skills to be a contributing member of the district administrative team.
